This was the site of a Shoney's Big Boy, a favorite hangout of the East High School students, especially the choir members.

You could get a terrific hot fudge cake desert--devil's food cake, with a layer of ice cream between the two layers of cake, hot fudge drizzled over, topped with whipped cream and a cherry.

It shut down and was replaced by Stringer's Nursery. I doubt that any of the old building remains, although at first the nursery was housed in the distinctive looking Shoney's building.
