North Parkway
|
| |
| A mile-long stretch of North Parkway, beginning just west of present-day University, was called "The Speedway" in the early 1900s. It was called the Speedway because that section of the road was straight and it was often used as an informal racetrack horseracing and later car racing. Today that general section of North Parkway has still has signs labeling it the Speedway Terrace Historic District. |
