The Enchanted Shoe Lamar Avenue 1965-1996

• Restaurants included Bill & Jim's on Madison, Pappy & Jimmy’s on Poplar at Hollywood, Pierotti’s on Poplar, Anderton’s on Madison, and The Southwestern Grill on McLean at Tutwiler, which is still in operation as Dino's Southwestern Grill.  For years it was Nick's Southwestern Grill, owned and operated by Nick Papageorge.
   

• There was a Quality Stamps redemption center & showroom on the south side of Union just east of Watkins.
   

• The snowball-throwing polar bear in front of the ice cream shop on East Parkway across from the Fairgrounds entrance.
