The Cotton Exchange Museum is located the Memphis Cotton Exchange building, which served as the heart of America's cotton trade when "Cotton was King." The present building was erected in 1939.

A plaque on the side of the building pays tribute to novelist John Grisham, who used the building as a setting in his 1991 novel The Firm.
