OVERTON PARK.  335-acre wooded park in the center of Memphis, Tennessee.  Here are located the Memphis Zoo, featuring a free children’s circus daily (except Monday) during the summer months; Brooks Memorial Art Gallery; a 9-hole golf course; playground area, and picnic grounds.

There was a lake in Overton Park that was populated by a larhe number of ducks and geese. They occasionally had fishing rodeos there (1950's). It was a wonderful place to spend a "free" Sunday afternoon for hundreds of "once a week" dads.
